It's Sunday morning. I wake up feeling so hung over from breathing in all the second hand smoke from the club the night before. Here we are, good little kids who don't drink or smoke and simply BEING in Vegas got my hung over like Ke$ha... crazy. Anyway. We have some tea and water and then begin to read the book of Acts together. We read about 7 chapters and are just getting blasted by the Spirit, so encouraged by God! Then Patrick and I go to breakfast in the hotel restaurant which is conveniently located on our floor. We are both silly, giggly, in-love messes. God's gift of harmony was truly being poured out upon us.
We eat breakfast and discuss some more of the questions from the book "How We Love" to continue our journey of healing from our childhood experiences. We then go back to the room to pack up our things to get ready to go to the T-mobile Arena for the Total Package Tour with Boys to Men, New Kids on the Block, and Paula Abdul. We pack and continue to chat about the book. We pop into the elevator and run into one of the other dancers and his friend. They also bought new glasses and got the same ones I got yesterday! It was too funny!
We hop on the tour bus and drive to the arena and Patrick shows me his place of work! So fun. I get to meet different people along the way backstage, see catering, costumes, their dressing rooms, and he takes me onto the stage of the arena to see how crazy it feels with all those potential booties fillin' them empty seats!! We hang out in the dressing room and I blog while Patrick rehearses with Paula and the dancers. Once they're all done we go into catering to eat some dinner. We sit down and Patrick prays for the Spirit to guide us. The moment we are done praying, two of the truck drivers, a man and a woman, come and sit down with us. One of them was one of the truck drivers for Bethel, Hillsong, and Jesus Culture and was a believer. The other woman may have been a believer as well as well and began to open her heart to me about everything she was going through. God fully opened Patrick and my mouth and we began to pour love upon her through the spirit of Love (Holy Spirit-God's Spirit-Spirit of Jesus). The Holy Spirit gave us words and understanding that filled her eyes with tears. We could tell she was being so touched by God through his love and simply meeting her right where she was at.
We said our goodbyes and then went back to the dressing room freaking out over how good God is! They get dressed and then we all go into Paula's dressing room. As they stretch Paula prays for the dancers and the team for their bodies to be anointed. At the end she says "one step closer to genius and Jesus". It was fiery in that room! God's presence was too real! I get led into the pit with the crowd right at the edge of the stage and their performance starts. There was so much energy on the stage and it was incredible getting to see Patrick perform and come alive on stage. I was smiling ear to ear just so in love with him. As I watched him I thought of how Paula's Manager had said to me just moments before "I love your fiancé. He is such an amazing guy. He's so kind and insanely talented. The guy is so different, I just love him". I felt so blessed as I watched him to be engaged to the man that people speak highly of because of his character. A man highly respected by his colleagues.
After I was done fan-girling hardcore in the show I met Patrick back in the dressing room and we went back out to watch New Kids on the Block. We were having so much fun goofing around and dancing to the 90's pop music. So in love, so fun, just getting to celebrate. It was like I was living in a dream! Again, God answered my prayer and desire for adventure, creativity, and harmony with Patrick.
We get back on the tour bus around 10:30pm and are sitting with the dancers in the front of the bus. Something comes up where Patrick says, "Hey share that testimony"! As I share the testimony that involves hearing Gods voice and getting overwhelmed by The Spirit, the newly hired tour manager gets so hype and starts sharing a testimony about his experience with Jesus! He was a believer and helped with Beibers tour and was one of his dancers as well. One of the dancers asks, "What is being slain in the spirit? Why would you fall over I don't get it"? She was a Christian but hadn't experienced the power of the holy spirit in that way. I ask, "Can I just pray for you now"? As I pray for her the Holy Spirit falls on her and she starts crying and laughing so touched by Gods spirit! Everyone get's amazed at what's happening. I then remember that I had the letters from my silent retreat to give to the dancers. I pass them out and as each person reads they're filled with tears. Apparently the words God had given me about their lives were exactly hitting their hearts. I love that God loves his kids so much that he will do ANYTHING, even talk through a little stranger like me, just to encourage his kids and tell them how much he loves them. God starts giving me even more prophetic words for them and everyone is getting crazily encountered by God. We spend the next two hours ministering to one another and sharing stories and experiences we've had with God! We simply enjoy one another as we hear stories of couples getting together, or crazy coincidences only God could have orchestrated and everyone's different beliefs.
One of the girls shares that she became a Christian because an old boyfriend had prayed for her and once she accepted Jesus it started raining for three seconds! It was as if God had baptized her the moment she said yes to God! It was crazy inspiring to hear her tell about it. Eventually we get so tired we have to go to bed. It's like 2;30am and we still have 2 more hours till we are in LA. So we climb up into the little coffin-like bunk-beds and try to sleep as the bus tosses us around to-and-fro. We get to LA and uber back to my house by 4am.
Patrick crashed on the couch as I flopped into my bed. Both of us falling asleep overwhelmed by Gods power! Vegas had not only been an incredible time of rejuvenation for us, but a blessings for others to know how deeply Gods knows them and loves them. God truly hears. It's literally a miracle to see where we are today after where we've been. God truly saved me, saved us, gave us life where their was death and fear; gave us hope where there was doubt. Restored our dreams and knitted us together in his love. I am so grateful for Gods guiding hand in our lives. We could never be in the joy and happiness we are experiencing if it wasn't for GOd's healing and guidance and showers of blessings.
